Medicine at Otago

Welcome to the Department of Occupational and Aviation Medicine Distance Learning Site.

Throughout the last semester of 2009 we extensively tested a new teaching platform that integrates into our existing teaching structure and largely removes the need to distribute course content on DVD.  This site aims to be a single resource where you can find content, communicate and interact with fellow students and faculty, ask questions in our forums and participate in a wide range of other activities.  We plan to offer the majority of our content via this platform in Semester 1 2010 but not all capability will be available at the start of the semester.  We advise that you check back here on a regular basis.

To get started simply log on (link to the left) with your username (or, if you cannot remember this, your email address) and password.  You will then be able to access the main Moodle system via a link that will appear in the menu.  If you have forgotten your password there is a link on the login page that you can use to recover it.  If you have any problems please email our Course Administrator, Katherine Harris at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. If you are not currently studying with us but are interested in our courses you may wish to have a look at the main departmental website where you will find a great deal of information about the department, our courses and how you can enroll.

System Usage Guides

We are in the process of producing a series of guides to using the MedicineAtOtago site.  They will be expanded over the next couple of months so if you have a problem be sure to read the guides here first!  If you have any technical problems go to support.medicineatotago.com or send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
